Primary EVENTS
Due to the importance of these events to our outreach program, all team members are required to participate in these outreach events. These events are generally focused on the team promotion of increasing awareness of STEM and providing STEM opportunities for students in elementary school through high school.
Women in STEM Conference
The Gongoliers host an annual Women in STEM Conference on February 15th at Ponaganset Middle School . The purpose of this outreach event is to inspire young women to explore career opportunities in STEM fields. Statistics from the exit survey provided at this year’s event showed that a large percentage of girls who attended are more interested in STEM!
Northern Rhode Island FLL Event Hosted by FRC Team 5112
The Gongoliers had the pleasure of hosting a First Lego League (FLL) qualifier event. 12 FLL teams from across Rhode Island participated in the event hosted at Ponaganset High School. Every member of our team volunteered to set up and run this event smoothly.
